As previously mentioned, I did finish this book. If I would rate ASOIAF or the books about Fitz or WOT as 10/10, then this would be like 8/10.
It's not as brilliant as those others, and it does have some corny and silly stuff in it (especially the romantic bits are very clumsy) but a very intriguing story and a very likeable main character. Perhaps, just perhaps, I might check out how much the second book will cost me at QBD today... I might just sneakily purchase it. Ha. Stupid library :-)
