It's been too busy to update, but finally we are facing the last week of holidays.
It has been hectic, and a lot of time spent at pools and such. It's been very hot.
My highlights have included catching up with wonderful friends, and seeing my kids enjoying time off.
We have been getting heaps of movies out from Blockbuster and been eating popcorn whilst watching them.
It's been good! Next week is the last week, and then it's back to school for Year 2! Can't believe it!!!

School holidays have begun
First week of school holidays!
We got M's report card last week, and he got the highest mark in English, Maths, History, Physical Education, Music as well as for his behaviour. All other marks were the second highest, apart from Science again but that was with a different teacher and perhaps he just didn't enjoy her classes that much.
On Monday I didn't have a shift at work, so M and I went to his school friend EF's place for a swim in the pool in the morning and then we took the train to the city for a bit of shopping and fun. Best day ever!
Yesterday I worked so M was at vacation care and they went to the Ginger Factory. Today and tomorrow we're home so this afternoon we are going to the Daycare Christmas Party and tomorrow not sure yet, nothing planned.
Next week is Christmas week, I am working Monday, Tuesday and Friday all day so H will be home with the kids and will have to cook them food and stuff. Hi hi hi.

Go Wolverhampton!
So last night, after a week of M constantly and nervously talking about it, it was finally time for the 5-a-side Grand Final. The team that they were up against had not lost one single game throughout the tournament so were definitely the favourites. I was expecting them to be super-good considering their results.
So the game started and almost straight away M's team scored. And from there on they never really lost control of the game. The other team had some lucky shots and managed 3 goals, but M's team scored 7 and could have scored another 5 really, that's how superior they were.
M just gave it all, I have never seen him so determined. All of the boys gave 110%, it was amazing. And they won, and the happiness was indescribable. I have never seen him so happy, I swear. It was such a joy to watch.
The boys won tickets to a Roar game, so they are all going together once the manager Amy organises it. And during the school holidays one of the families is having a BBQ at the pool at their house. I think this is so good for my little man; for his confidence and also for getting some beautiful new friendships. Yay, hooray, so amazing!

Little J turns 2
What a day! I'm so tired and sunburnt, but very happy. The day started early with me and M going to swim school. Once we got home, Little J and H were just waking up so we sang her a song and gave her some presents. She got a Peppa Pig puzzle, Peppa Pig pencils and a purple tutu.
Then it was madly rushing around organising the food and picking up the cake and at 11am everyone showed up to the party!
The kids all had a great time, and everyone ate lots of food, and one of the chickens escaped up in a tree so everyone was trying to get it, and it was success all around.
Most people left around 1pm, but the A's stayed until around 3pm I think, which was great so we all could have a proper chat. And Uncle P and Auntie L and Little D left at around 5. Even Uncle G came around in the afternoon to wish Little J a happy birthday!
M just said before falling asleep, that it had been the best party ever. And Little J fell asleep singing "Happy Day to you, Happy Day to you". So I think they were both quite happy!
Tomorrow is back to work. Next big hurdle is Christmas!!!

Four days to go!
Starting to get sorted with the party planning for Little J's 2nd birthday Farm Animal Party!
Instead of making a cake, we decided to buy a nice Cheesecake Shop one. Also got the party bags sorted, and today I bought heaps of candy for the pinata.
On Saturday we will get sausages and bread and fruit for the fruit platter, then on Sunday just the ice hopefully!
We are only having four families coming, firstly E&M and S&J&W from school, then B&L&L from mums club, and then little DM of course. And also Grandma, and all the parents associated with previously mentioned children. So looking at around 20 people all up probably. Two families couldn't make it, so that's why it's a bit smaller this time around.
Got a chequered table cloth and Auntie L and Uncle P are bringing chickens and hay bales.
I think we will be all good! Hooray.

Christmas shopping in full swing
Doing well on the Christmas shopping!
Finished all the Swedish ones and posted them today, to make certain they'll be there in time. Also got the books for the kids for kindy Christmas party, the Secret Santa for work party, presents for the R kids, present for Dudde, and one of the presents from Santa for M.
H and I are buying a wading pool with a cover for the kids, for them to share during the summer months, and one gift each from Santa (or maybe two) and that's it. We are keeping it low-key this year due to monies.
Tomorrow is work Christmas party, should be interesting to see how Little J fares at night time. We haven't done that before! Saturday night is car club Christmas party. So yeah, here we go! The silly season is upon us.... still got to get through Little J's birthday party too!

More clay
I'm really enjoying this at the moment.
Big week it was.
Worked as per usual during the week, then on Friday night M had school disco. Today we went to a birthday party at the park, which was ridiculously hot and bothersome. Then I went to the shops to get some stuff and enjoy air-con and peace and quiet. Bought some stuff for Little J's birthday party as well, yay.
Tomorrow it's swim at 7am, then breakfast at the O'S's house at 9am and then we are going out for lunch with JV and B at Kedron Park Hotel. In the afternoon I've got to drop the finches off at A's house because she's babysitting them while we're away.
Monday morning we're off to Yamba for three nights. A holiday, unbelievable.

Me and M out for a walk
I love this picture. M and I have been going out for walks after dinner every night, sometimes we walk down to Blockbuster but sometimes we just walk to the end of the street and back (about 15 minutes all up). It's nice time just the two of us and he talks my ears off of course, but it's so lovely.
So yes, this is from Monday I think and I had a huge day at work and M a huge day at Vacation Care and we're both tired but very much enjoying our little walk in the fresh air!

Neverending Story
Just watched this with M. I think it's the first time he's actually stayed up until the end of a movie in the evening. He just loved it, just like I hoped he would.
Oh my, it's a wonderful movie. Yes, maybe some of the special effects and costumes and props have not aged well, but it so does not matter. It just rocks.
He cried when Artax died, and at the end he was sitting there going "shout the name, shout the name!" and laughing out loud when Falcor chased those mean boys into the dumpster.
Yeah! Great success...

A bit quiet for a while
It has just been such a crazy week with H away. I don't get a break EVER. I work and I got the kids, and Little J is sleeping really badly so I literally do not have a moment to myself!
Here's Little J having lunch one day during the week.
Here's Little J in the BIG bath. She had finally gone from the baby bath to the big bath tub with her brother. They are both loving it.
We picked up the framed photos today. They are wonderful. So excited.

New hair
Had a pretty dramatic haircut on the weekend!
I think this will work better with the dress for the big wedding on Saturday.
It is H's birthday today so we are going out for dinner. Then at about 1.30pm H and one of his work mates are hopping into the ute and driving all the way down to Canberra. They will be there for almost three weeks.
Grandma has wonderfully agreed to babysit the kids on Saturday so I can still go to WW's wedding. Thank goodness...
Will miss H lots...

My little soccer star
Today was M's last game for the season, and he copped a ball right in the face. There were tears and everything, but after a 5 minute break he was back in there which was great. The team lost, but only by a little, and M was very close to scoring like 4 times.
Actually, during the game a coach from a different team came up and asked if M wanted to play with them tomorrow for a soccer carnival as well as during the 5-a-side series which is running October through to December. Isn't that wonderful?
So tomorrow I am getting M up at 6.30am for swim class, then home for some morning tea, then off again for two games at the soccer carnival, then back home for a BBQ with Auntie L and Uncle P and Marley (I can't wait!!!) and in the afternoon A&E are coming over for a play date.
Next week H got work sorted for Monday and Wednesday so far, we'll see if he manages to score anything else. I am working as per usual, and then on Saturday it's WW's big fat wedding. So can't wait yay.
Picture is a sun selfie from by the side of the soccer field. No sunnies because I am still waiting for H to fix my old ones (I've been waiting for 4-5 months now...)

Dress Up As Book Character Day
Finally the day had come! M has been looking forward to this all year, because he wanted to go as Harry Potter.
So with an inside out grey shirt and his black cords, his Gryffindor cape and Harry glasses and the wand Auntie L gave him, some black hair spray and make-up pen to make the scar... he was all done, and how stoked he was!!!
Here he is with his very good friend SH who was Barbie.
Then Little J and I went to parade to watch them all, almost all the kids had dressed up. There were a couple more Harrys, but lots of Thing 1 and Thing 2, and pirates and princesses and a Dalek and heaps and heaps more. Lots of fun.
Not everyone got dressed up, a few kids in M's class didn't. But I am so happy we made all that effort, he loved it and it was such good fun.

Biggish day
Life is so busy, and I realised I have missed mentioning lots of things happening in the last week.
But anyways.. ha ha.
Working today of course, and H had a day off so he did drop off at school in the morning. I picked the monkeys up though, and we had a lovely afternoon.
M hanging upside down in the backyard (he loves this trapeze).
Little J enjoying some yummy slow cooker dahl.

Hungover hubby
Whilst I have been doing what I was told and not drinking, H went out with his best friend CY last night and didn't come home until 4am in the morning. So no, he did not get up at 5.30am to go to swim school with M. But I did, and then me and the kids went to the Northside Lifestyle Markets.
Now H is asleep on the couch but I am waking him up in about 20 minutes to drive me to LR's baby shower in St Lucia. Tomorrow is back at work again, meh. We are all looking forward to Wednesday being Dress Up As A Book Character day at school and M is going as Harry Potter! Yay!!!

Circle of Lies Premiere
I went to my dear old friend MC's first feature film release premiere last night!
It meant driving a very long way to Balmoral, but all worth it because it was such fun to catch up with MC and also SK and SB, all who I haven't seen for a while.
I am so happy I came along to support the boys, and have an evening out without the kiddies!
M stayed up to almost 10pm waiting for mummy to come home, and apparently Little J stood at the window looking out at the street saying "mummy, mummy, mummy" for a long time after I left.
Feeling so loved! :-)

Poooooooooped
This week is bloody madness.
But at least it's good madness, I guess! Yesterday and today I went to work, M had soccer training last night but otherwise it has been a soft start to the week.
Tomorrow I have a doctors appointment in the morning, and then doing a whole bunch of chores including some groceries and such fun. Tomorrow night H is going to the McGuires to do their electrical work.
Thursday after dropping M off at school I am going to Southbank with Little J to catch up with SLL for some Max Brenners, can't wait. Then in the evening I am going to the premiere of MC and SB's movie at Balmoral Cinemas.
Friday is work all day.
Saturday is work again.
Sunday is LR's baby shower at a fancy café on the westside.
Yeah. I am pooped already, as you can probably tell...

Me and Neng
Big day today.
First soccer game in the morning, then to DFO for some shopping and to IKEA for some more shopping. Good times!
Now we are just relaxing at home, tomorrow is swim school and nothing else booked. It is nice to have weekends like this from time to time. The next three or four weekends are madness.
Last night I came home from work at 5pm and after scoffing some dinner took M to his first ever school disco at 6pm. It was a superhero themed one, so he went as Batman.
At first he was all shy and didn't want to dance, but then saw a couple of his friends and he was off. Lots of crazy Gangnam Style and LMFAO shuffling going on, over 200 kids just going crazy having the best time of their lives.
Wonderful.

Evening Time
Just a couple of pictures from the rest of the day.
M with some of his Adventure Time stuff; he actually ended up with quite a bit because H won some stuff at Sideshow Alley as well.
Little J on the swing; with Daisy of course. She loves her Daisy.
M on the computer tonight, with Jake the Dog beanie and earphones. What a cool little guy, hey?
Today has been a little bit of a hard one, but tomorrow should be good fun because I am going to Chermside to check out something to wear for WW's wedding!

Boys at the EKKA
Just dropped H and M off at the train station to go to the Ekka on People's Day. M was so excited last night, and this morning he was just the happiest boy in the whole wide world. Grandma gave him $50 for show bags, oh my goodness! We looked at the Ekka website last night, so we knew which show bag to go for. He wants the "Adventure Time" show bag which is $25, then he promised Grandma to get a show bag for Little J as well.
They are also doing one of the ghost trains, and perhaps one more ride that is not too scary lol.
This afternoon H is helping Uncle G's parents with their electrical work at their house, so I will probably take the kids to Pine Rivers Park. Might drive there in the Hilux, to test how it feels to drive it. It's quite big, so I have to get used to it.
At the shops this morning bought a book "Ten Little Fingers & Ten Little Toes" for baby Reeves, for the baby shower in a couple of weeks. Hopefully LR doesn't have it already.
