Hail storms

Such an eventful afternoon.

Went to work and came home, H made beautiful pizzas for lunch.

Then I took M to the pool, it was around 4pm, and we had a lovely swim. Perfect time of the day. So perfect that even though I could see this storm coming, we stayed in the pool for quite some time. Actually once we got out I still believed the storm was at least 10 minutes away.

Oh, how wrong I was. As we got into the car the winds kicked in like crazy, and about one minute from home the hail started! My goodness, it was madness and super scary. Hail the size of golfballs were hitting the windscreen and the winds were so violent. I was terrified about the glass breaking and about the damage to the car. Someone died in their car in a storm in Brisbane earlier in the week, so that didn't help.

Anyways, we arrive home and pretty much right then the hail stops. Both M and I are in tears. The car has some dints on the bonnet and on the roof, but really not too bad. She's an old, beaten up car anyways so nothing to cry about.

H's work van did not fare as well though! It was parked outside our house, and the back window was totally smashed. Good thing it's not ours, hey? Ha.

H is working tomorrow, so M and I will take it easy-ish.
